Wendy and I met online, as so many do these days. However, I had been on a few different dating sites, looking for someone who I could have genuine conversations with, someone intelligent, driven, someone who could match my energy level, someone fit and active and who could reply with a response other than "LOL".

While working up north, I had heard about a dating site called Hinge. I joined, and to my disappointment, there were the same old characters, no one interesting. I was ready to give up hope of ever meeting that special someone and live out the remainder of my days single.

And then…

A message was sent to me, and a like!

And there she was!  With her super short hair, big brown eyes behind her big glasses, a bio background of cycling, running, being fit, down to earth, and she had six dogs. Yes, six pups! I was hooked. 

I was working away at the time of our initial conversation and with hope, I replied.

We hit it off like a house on fire, messaging back and forth until, finally, we had our first phone call. We both answered the call, laughing and giggling like a couple of kids in high school. We would continue texting and talking for another 6 days. We had many deep and personal conversations and experienced all levels of emotions.

The day finally arrived when we would meet face to face for our first date. We both were so excited and nervous. 

And there she was, wow, sitting at the bar, her silhouette made my heart beat faster. We gave each other the biggest hug. 

From that moment on, we would spend every minute together. We also made a promise to us that every Friday would be date night.

Wendy, and the 6 pups, would come to see me out of town on weekends, as I work away. I don't know of any other couple that can say they have had date night on the Elk River Rd., in the middle of nowhere, outside of Drayton Valley. 

We have been on many woof adventures with our boys ( the 6 pups), road trips to the lake, a week long holiday in Kelowna with the boat, a weekend get away to see Metallica and, just recently, driving from Calgary to Salt Lake City, Utah, to see Post Malone in concert and then over to Portland, Oregon and back to Calgary. We definitely travel well together. 

With that said, if you are receiving this email  we would be honored to have you at our wedding, our exchanging of vows, and our life long commitment to each other.
